How to construct and advert
I just want to explain some basics to you about the way you should be constructing an advert. That is the way you format it so you can get the maximum response from the people reading it.
Now the way you construct you advert will depend on the types of advertising your doing and the amount of space you have available to do this in but by and large the following formula will be relevant to most types of advertising.
First thing of course is the advert will need a headline. This headline needs to be eye catching and curious. A good headline will more often than not either ask a question or create a problem.
You want the reader to start thinking as soon as they see your advert and a headline that gets them to either to answer that question or agree with that problem is a great start.
The body of the advert will really want to address the issues created in the headline. You can offer a solution to the question asked or the problem created. The solution will be found when they visit your website or when they view a particular product and you can tell them this within the body of the advert.
How much information you tell in the body or the way you tell it is really dependent on how much space you have to write. Most often you will only have a few lines to get your solution across so make it straight to the point.
Call to Action
The final part of your advert is where you explain to the reader what to do next. More than likely you will be getting them to visit a website address to view your website or a product your promoting. You give them a call to action such as “Visit Today” or “Click Here Now”
The example below is an advert that is targeting the weight loss market and is set out how I have just explained.

The advert above has the headline posing a question. It then offers a solution and finally it explains what they need to do next with the call to action.
In the example above I have highlighted certain words and made the website address stand out as well as made the letters all capitals at the start of each word in the title. You may not always be able to do this but if you can then use these strategies too.
You only have a split second to attract the reader so make your advert as attention grabbing as possible. Try to be different from other adverts out there but don’t stray too far from the above formula as it is well proven. And remember that what you state in the body of the ad really must be the solution that they will find once they visit your website or product.
